Brings back some crappy memories from like 2008 when there was this batch of USB flash drives, and MP4/MP5 players everywhere that had a fake size/flashed with a different firmware. As a 14-year-old kid at the time, It was a nightmare trying to convince the retailer that what they were selling was fake, and it took like 8 bad MP4 players to convince the Big-Show-looking dude to give me a refund. After I got the refund, I bought an MP5 player that looked like a PSP with a light blue skin, which also had a fake size problem, but at least the other retailer was reasonable enough to offer me an SD card to make up for that, and coincidentally, I worked for that guy for a few months, helping with softmodding PS2s and stuff like that.
Sometimes I wonder if these people who sell these fake products think they’re on some kind of moral crusade or something. Like, in what world is it smart to fool people once than to win them over for life? In our world, apparently.
Having said that, I’d rather deal with Amazon on a daily basis than with local retailers here in Morocco, man. All it takes is 5-10 minutes with their customer support to get my money back whether because a product got stuck in customs for longer than necessary or anything else, really. I still consider it the lesser of two evils though, because when you buy a product online or otherwise, you also pay with your time, and your anticipation, if you will, so anything that makes your job unnecessarily harder feels like a scam.
