My mom told me about an interesting conversation earlier. It went like this:
My brother’s wife: My [super religious] brother wants to marry, but he can’t afford it.
My mom: My son (me) doesn’t think marriage is such a good idea although he could lay all the cards on the table [for a potential spouse] beforehand to avoid any unexpected problems.
My brother’s wife: Unfortunately, that’s not enough because we women can change our mind at any second, so as far as I’m concerned, he’s doing the right thing.
Not sure if that’s “reverse-psychology by proxy”, if you will, or my brother’s wife is not your run-of-the-mill NPC. Love your thought-provoking content, Sandman! Cheers!
