My Comment on UFD Tech’s “Fixing the PlayStation 2 with Liquid Metal!” Video

I remember having to use my sixth sense in order to switch to YPbPr via PS2 System Configuration relying only on audio feedback while using the HDMI adapter, because I was too lazy to use ten-year-old LG plasma TV in the living room.
3:48 I have a 64MB memory card I got from AliExpress, which surprisingly works very well. Lol Technically, I have 2, but for some reason, one of them reverted to 8MB after using an ELF app called MC Killer to fix it. Oh, well.
3:08 Speaking of the Jak and Daxter franchise, I have a weird Illuminati-confirmed-like history with the Jak II game disc — I wish I were making this up. Back in 2009, my brother-in-law brought 3 PlayStation 2’s from France (2 phat, and 1 slim), including some game discs like Jak III, and Jak II. For some reason, idiot me finished Jak III first, and when I got to like 50% playing Jak II, my brother-in-law decided to sell the 2 phat ones to a cybercafé owner, including the 2 games as some kind of incentive. I thought that it would sound childish to convince him to let me keep the Jak II disc, so I didn’t say anything. Fast forward to 2019, I decided to get myself a couple of phat PS2s, HDDs, and network adapters. At first, I bought 1 slim, and 1 phat PS2s from our Moroccan version of Craigslist (it’s called Avito; I think it’s available in Russia, too.) for like 30 bucks, then I found a good deal on the French version of Craigslist (called LeBonCoin), which included 1 phat PS2, 2 genuine PS2 controllers, and like 3 PS2 game discs (mostly PES games). I turn on the last PS2 I bought, and lo and behold, it had Jak II in it! I could not effing believe it, man! Obviously, my brother-in-law had no clue, and this crazy coincidence was what made me tell him the whole story as I’m sure he wasn’t going to object if I asked him to let me keep the Jak II disc anyway. Thing is, original game discs were super rare back then, and here in Morocco, we buy clones from legit stores like it’s a normal thing, because our government does not enforce copyright laws, probably because such laws are considered first world problems around these parts for obvious reasons, but anyway, if Kyler hadn’t left the Jak and Daxter disc in the PS2, I probably wouldn’t have remembered this crazy story.
7:34 I once did while it was on (testing to see if the power button ribbon was connected properly), and ended up getting zapped so hard (as soon as I hopped out of the shower) that I’m literally getting chills right now just remembering it. There was smoke and everything, and yet the PS2 is still working perfectly. Gotta hand it to Sony for that good old anti-planned-obsolescence hardware!
