My Comment on UFD Tech’s “Who Still Believes This About GPUs?” Video

You can watch the video here. It’s very informative!

11:47 Funny how I’ve had an ultra random black screen issue that plagued me for years, and I could never figure out the cause until this morning when I disabled overclocking (which was running perfectly fine), and re-enabled C1E, and C-State, then the black screen happened again, although all the temps are great, and I’ve never had any throttling of any kind. It was such a “EUREKA!” moment, because I was never able to trigger that particular issue, hence the elusiveness thereof. Coming across your second bullet felt like a “message from beyond” kind of thing. It wasn’t the kind of black screen that would happen regularly like, if it happens right this moment, it means it might only happen again once I turn my PC off completely, meaning that I could literally keep my PC on for months on end, and never have that black screen issue again. This particular black screen problem reminds me of back when I used to install Hackintosh on my then-potato-PC, and I would rarely find DSDT patches for sleep mode to the point where I would experiment with patches for different motherboard models, and hope for the best, and the results were surprisingly good most of the time, since I don’t mind breaking, and tinkering with stuff for the sake of learning new stuff. It’s what makes the tech world fun in the first place as far as I’m concerned. Anyway, Brett, I really enjoy your PC Doctor schtick, since I’ve been one for more than half my life, so it’s something I can really, really relate to. I remember when I was in the 8th grade, my then-school-supervisor asked me why their ESET NOD32 Antivirus taskbar eye icon was red, and I remember telling him, “Why, it’s the allergies, of course!” which cracked him the hell up.
