Upgrading from a Pentium IV to Core 2 Quad Q6600 back in 2011 was awesome! Bought a used pre-built branded MAXDATA (for $80) that had Core 2 Duo E6600 in it (no hard drive, and a BIOS-related BSOD), then replaced it with a Q6600 that I bought for $90, and sold the E6600 for $30. I kinda miss those early TechYes-ish days of mine.
Don’t remember if updating the BIOS was what fixed the BSOD or the fact that the guy who sold me the PC didn’t bother/know to switch to IDE mode.
