That’s what they get for being a run-of-the-mill same-formula-regurgitating company that cares more about BlackRock’s money than making actual good games. If anything, there should be a worldwide company policy reset of sorts with emphasis on creativity and merit.
Someone commented:
They upset Japan because they made a historically inaccurate game based there.
Someone replied:
They put chinese architecture in Japan, they included weapons that didn’t exist in the period as well. I don’t blame the people of Japan going ‘yo wtf!?’
Someone else replied to that:
Have you not played an assassin’s creed game before?
Someone else replied to the reply below:
I’m old enough to remember when they removed Altair’s crossbow because it was historically inaccurate. To say they never cared about historical accuracy is gaslighting.
My reply:
They always say it’s a work of fiction to avoid any kind of responsibility, but I guess this is just karma biting them in the ass for not practicing what they preach.Someone else commented:

Yusuke was definitely put in the game for a narrative, and no, not the game’s story. Pretending otherwise makes you a fool who’s not paying any attention to trends in the industry.
Someone replied:
If thats the case, then what is in your opinion a way to do a game about Yasuke without you saying its following a trend or DEI or any other thing? Im asking in good faith btw
Someone replied to that:
for an assassin’s creed game? Have him as a side character doing his own things that you run into regularly. Then give him his own game. Build interest in seeing him
My reply:
Exactly. They were fine doing that with Adéwalé in Freedom Cry DLC. It would’ve made more sense had they gone the same route, especially that there are more interesting actual Japanese historical figures to serve as the main character. Or they could’ve just gone with a random nobody instead of some over-exaggerated pseudo-historical figure based on a heavily edited Wikipedia page by one obsessed author who seems like one of the white characters in the movie Get Out.
