Personally, I use uBlock Origin, and here’s what its about section says: uBlock Origin is not an “ad blocker”, it’s a wide-spectrum content blocker with CPU and memory efficiency as a primary feature.
Let’s say I visit a website, and I try to click a button, and then a delayed script runs, and makes me click something else. If that’s not malicious, I don’t know what is, so the solution for that is to block the delayed script for a smoother UX. If being smart enough not to be tricked into watching or clicking content I’m not remotely interested in considered piracy, then piracy is a noble thing as far as I’m concerned, but man, the spotlight really makes some people say the dumbest shit ever. 🤦🏻♂️

UPDATE: I’ve felt so bad just now for realizing that I accidentally turned off Anti-Adblock Killer by Reek globally while I was supposed to exclude only Upwork for debugging purposes. 😭
17:40 Exactly! There will always be people who don’t mind watching ads, but none of them has to be self-righteous about it to the point where they compare blocking ads to piracy. 🤦🏻♂️
21:45 I said “horseshit”, so close enough. 😂
