Any idea whether this issue is called a “flicker” or a “noise” or a “glitch”? So far, I haven’t found any thread talking about this particular issue (mostly stuff related to crappy Local Dimming, and flickering due to dynamic brightness or VRR Control being set to off or the aforementioned feature, while others blame HDR).
I can’t seem to upload a picture here, so here it is hosted on imgur. I tried turning on/off features, factory resetting, and even using a different outlet, because I thought maybe it was some kind of electrical noise or overvoltage. Currently my Powerchute UPS software says the input voltage is at 232V (Morocco). I also tried both DP, and HDMI cables, but to no avail.
In this video, the issue occurs at 0:15, and then at 1:10 (I had to cut the video, because IMGGUR only allows 60 seconds, so the linked photo above shows the glitch at 1:10, while the first time it occurred on the edited video is at 0:05). Lowering the refresh rate (for debugging purposes) also didn’t help, since this problem occurs even when my computer is off, and the monitor is on standby. Any ideas would be appreciated. I’m thinking about returning it, because I’m kinda worried that this happens due to a damaged panel or something like that. I’m just brainstorming here, of course.
UPDATE: I noticed this issue only occurs when the refresh rate is set to 240Hz (regardless of whether G-SYNC (adaptive sync) is on or not.) For instance, even when the DP cable is unplugged from the GPU, the issue still occurs.
