I got an Odyssey G7 32″ (my first gaming monitor ever; an upgrade from a regular BenQ 21.5″ 60Hz monitor), and I noticed there was a weird flickering issue which occurs before I even connect the DP/HDMI cable. It could be some kind of overvoltage issue, because no matter how many features I turned on, and off, that flickering issue wouldn’t stop. The flickering is in the form of a line that flashes in less than a second, sometimes in the middle, sometimes near the top, while other times near the bottom. I did upgrade to the latest firmware, but that didn’t fix anything, so I returned it for now, and the store claimed that they’re going to have their technician look into it.
I feel like I’m in a paradoxical situation right now, because I’m not sure whether I should hold my breath or not, so to speak, especially that in Morocco, the hardest part is to get your money back when there’s no alternative; it’s like a mafia thing. No wonder I mostly buy stuff online, because I know I can easily get my money back when something doesn’t work the way it should. I really don’t want my first gaminig monitor experience to be disappointing; without the flickering issue (which is barely noticeable while gaming/watching content), it’s effing amazing! Problem is that I use dark mode everywhere, and that’s what makes the flickering annoyingly noticeable. I’m back to using my 8-year-old monitor for now (BenQ GL2250), and it looks like it’s a 14-inch monitor now. shrugs
