In Case You Didn’t Get the Memo, We Don’t Need Religion to Be the Best Version of Ourselves

 |  ESTIMATED READING TIME:  LESS THAN A MINUTE

Check out the question on Reddit.

Most Modern Muslims believe in a PG-13 version of Islam, that’s why they experience instant cognitive dissonance the minute they hear such dark-yet-true claims; kind of like what happened to Neo Anderson in the Matrix, or simply what happens to a kid when they learn that Santa isn’t real. While one can argue that judging how people lived in the Middle Ages using modern standards is like comparing ancient technology to modern technology, which is unfair, that very same argument can be used as irrefutable proof that we don’t really need any religion — regardless of its validity — to be the best version of ourselves.
