Some really disgusting ads made it my life’s mission to install YouTube Vanced on the smartphone of every person I know here in Morocco. We Moroccans never feel bad about doing what we think is right even if the entire capitalistic world tries to guilt-trip us into paying for everything, including totally unnecessary BS.
Guilt trip starts here, which is ridiculous, considering that many hotshot YouTubers can’t stop complaining about YouTube not making them any significant amount of money, and now it’s hurting their livelihood, and their employees’ as well? What a fucking load of horseshit!
Not a single capitalism lover out there depends on a single source of income, so saying that people who use Vanced hurt YouTubers’ livelihood, knowing that most people who use Vanced aren’t North Americans, I’m sure, and the best paying ads are from there — including the UK, and Australia — is like calling out someone who lives thousands of miles away for farting during a Zoom meeting. Seriously, how much money do you need to accumulate in order for you to stop guilt-tripping people into paying for unnecessary services while there are better free alternatives out there? Jeez! 🤦🏻♂️
Holier-than-thou attitude begins here. Well, Linus, there’s no polite way to say this, but the only reason you have those precious principles of yours is that your government makes it possible for you to afford said principles. If you were born in Morocco, you would literally pirate everything without having to feel guilty about it. Even our Moroccan version of Google is piracy-friendly for fuck’s sake! Sometimes it’s really hard to tolerate your master-slave morality BS, Linus, and this is coming from an IT guy who’s admired the work you do for over a decade.
