When Paul first contacted me on Upwork, I was pissed off at another Canadian customer for leaving me a 4-star review out of spite, which kind of made me paranoid to the point where I assumed that my Job Success Score was affected when Paul sent me an offer, and I didn’t accept it, but I’m glad I was wrong. I haven’t met such a reasonable person online in a while; reasonable people aren’t a dime a dozen as some might have you think.
Paul is not your run-of-the-mill customer; he’s what every entrepreneur should aspire to be, seriously. People who let you work your magic in your own way without messing with your process aren’t really easy to come by. Paul also doesn’t settle for words of encouragement; as he tries to understand the ins and outs of every function that I write, it’s like his feedback generates electricity, because he makes it so easy for me not to run out of ideas. 💡😂👏🏻
Although at one point, he was like, “It was all you.” it didn’t take long for me to prove that it wasn’t. The whole experience felt like an awesome brain-stimulating episode of House M.D. meets Mr. Robot, trying to fix a weird bug that involves WooCommerce orders, and a tax-calculating plugin called WooCommerce AvaTax by Avalara. It took days of trial and error, and we both learned a lot from every fatal error, and white screen of death.
Only today that we realized our workaround needed a little final touch, and:

Here’s to our next adventure, Paul!
